About

Wife, youngest son and I at Altun Ha ruinsWelcome to Alamo City Diverse Creations! My name is Billy Burt and I am the owner/operator of Alamo City Diverse Creations. I have been an avid woodworker for about 30 years and have long built furniture for myself or family members. I’ve always been quite fond of unique and attractive writing instruments. I have a small collection of vintage Shaeffer and Parker fountain pens that I use as daily writers, some NOS (1980's) fountains that I haven't been able to bring myself to ink, and a few contemperary Pelikans, etc. Some years ago my son turned a pen for me in wood shop and piqued my interest. I still carry that pen today... among others.

I got back into turning several years ago and enjoy turning just about anything from lamps to bowls to pens. While pens are among my favorite objects to turn, I also enjoy turning bottle stoppers and ornaments. The attention to detail keeps me engaged.

I proudly create unique, one-of-a-kind writing instruments. All of my instruments feature only the finest materials and finishes, and I constantly strive to perfect my craft. While you will find the traditional materials of fine or rare woods, and even various resins, you will also see a number of rather unique materials used. These range from used bowling balls to fabric, or anything else that my imagination can come up with. I hand turn, sand, finish and buff every item to ensure that my creations are heirloom quality. That being said, they should last lifetimes of normal use. They are not, however, immune to abuse. Please visit my Care page for details in caring for your hand crafted product.

Enjoy your visit to the site and feel free to contact me with any questions.
